Stories I Tell Myself

I have always enjoyed, even preferred solitude.  I crave time alone to day dream and create, but the forced isolation of the pandemic has blurred the boundary between seclusion and loneliness.  My newest work reflects my evolving feelings as I navigate this extraordinary time and adjust to life in my newly-emptied nest.  My days are no longer filled with the care and mothering of children and while I relish my freedom, I miss my son and daughter.  It’s a joy to see them out in the world, finding their own adventures, but it’s also daunting to come to terms with the profound shift in our relationships.

Stories I Tell Myself is a visual diary of my evolving sense of self as I navigate this new chapter of my life and embrace the bittersweet nature of change.
