Biography

Jackie Heitchue is a New England-based fine art photographer whose work is equal parts autobiography and invention.  Her images often portray domestic scenes with a stillness and formality that is simultaneously familiar and allegorical.  Her series, the Poetry of Mushrooms, was a Critical Mass finalist. She has had solo shows at the Griffin Museum of Photography in Massachusetts and Kehler Liddell Gallery in Connecticut.  Her work was selected for publication and exhibition in the Portfolio showcase at the Center for Fine Art Photography in Colorado.  She was recently honored with a Gold Award from the San Francisco Bay International Photography Exhibition. A graduate of the Corcoran School of Art, Heitchue has worked as an award-winning photojournalist, master printer at the Library of Congress, and high school photography teacher.
